65 yaş üstü erişkinlerde aşı uygulamaları

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 39 - 44, 30.06.2022

Abstract

Vaccination applications in adults over 65 years of age

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 39 - 44, 30.06.2022

Abstract

Preventive health services; immunization, drug prevention, early diagnosis, adequate and balanced nutrition, family planning and health education. Immunization is one of the most effective and inexpensive ways to protect people against infectious diseases. The need for vaccination does not end with childhood. On the contrary, it protects adults from many diseases, complications and death. People aged 65 and over are more prone to infectious diseases. Vaccines recommended to be administered over the age of 65 in Turkey are seasonal influenza, pneumococcal, herpes zoster and tetanus vaccines. There is a need for an algorithm similar to childhood vaccinations to be quickly planned and implemented for the elderly in the world and in Turkey.
