The Relationship of Isokinetic Strength Values at 60° Angle Speed with Jump and Sprint Performance in Young Soccer Players

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 26 - 31, 14.06.2022

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the isokinetic forces of the knee joint flexor (hamstring) and extensor (m. quadriceps) muscle groups measured at 60° angular velocity, and 10 m to 30 m linear sprint performance and jump tests (active and squat) at the soccer players. 49 volunteer soccer players with an average age of 15.65±0.93 years, a mean height of 177.45 ± 7.42 cm, and an average body weight of 70.08±4.31 kg participated in the study. The participants were applied counter movement jump and squat jump tests, 10 and 30 m sprint tests and isokinetic strength test at 60o/s angular speed. There was no correlation between 60o/s angular velocity isokinetic force values and jump heights and 10m sprint time (p> 0.05). It was determined that there was a negative correlation between right and left leg extension peak torque forces and 30m sprint times (p<0.05). It is thought that the peak torque values obtained at low angular velocities used in isokinetic strength tests do not provide information about the jump and sprint performance of the athletes.

Genç Futbolcularda 60° Açısal Hızlardaki İzokinetik Kuvvet Değerlerinin Sıçrama ve Sprint Performansı ile İlişkisi

Year 2022, Volume: 3 Issue: 1, 26 - 31, 14.06.2022
