The Use of Moulage for Providing “Fidelity” in Nursing Education

Abstract

In nursing education today, simulation use is becoming increasingly common as an additional training method for developing nursing knowledge and skills. Simulation allows the participant to experience a real environment by providing experience-based learning opportunities. Simulated learning allows students to practice their skills in environments that are similar to or the same as they will experience in real-life situations. For simulated learning to be effective, it is important to create realistic visual and tactual experiences in the learning environment. This can be achieved with the use of moulage. This study examines the use and importance of moulage as an additional tool in simulation scenarios and to demonstrate teaching materials.

Hemşirelik Eğitiminde “Gerçekliği” Sağlamada Mulaj Kullanımı

Abstract

Günümüzde hemşirelik eğitiminde bilgi ve becerinin geliştirilmesi için kullanılan geleneksel eğitim yöntemlerine ek olarak simülasyonun kullanımı giderek yaygınlaşmaktadır. Simülasyon tamamen katılımcı tarzda deneyime dayalı öğrenme imkanı sunarak bir rehber öncülüğünde gerçek bir ortamı önceden deneyimlemeyi sağlayan bir yöntemdir. Öğrencinin simülasyon uygulamasının gerçeğe yakın olduğunu hissetmesi gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle gerçeğe yakın öğretim ortamını oluşturmada görsel, işitsel ve dokunsal gerçeklik yaratma anahtar rol oynamaktadır. Bu gerçeklik ise mulaj kullanımı ile sağlanabilmektedir. Bu derlemede, simülasyon uygulamalarına eklenebilen ya da tek başına öğretim aracı olarak kullanılan mulajın kullanım alanları ve önemi ortaya konmuştur.
