Abstract
Tiroidektomi, kulak burun boğaz hekimlerinin her geçen gün artan sıklıkla uyguladıkları bir operasyondur. Cerrahi teknik olarak çok zor olmasa da komplikasyon geliştiği zaman can sıkıcı olabilir. Tiroid gelişim anomalileri nadir görülmekle birlikte cerrahi esnasısındaki komplikasyon oranlarını artırabileceği için önem arzederler. Tiroid isthmus agenezisi bu anomalilerden biri olup literatürde az sayıda vaka bildirilmiştir. Biz bu olgu sunumunda 51 yaşında multinodüler guatr sebebiyle total tiroidektomi uygulanan ve intraoperatif isthmusunun olmadığı fark edilen bir vaka sunduk. Bu gelişim anomalilerine sahip olan hastaların cerrahisi esnasında olası komplikasyonlar açısından daha dikkatli olunmalı ve eşlik edebilecek başka anomalilelerin de olabileceği akılda tutulmalıdır.
