Otizmli Çocuklarda Beslenme ve Bağırsak Problemleri

Abstract

Amaç: Bu araştırmanın amacı otizim tanısı almış çocuklarda beslenme ve bağırsak problemlerinin incelenmesidir.
Yöntem: Otizim tanısı bulunan çocuğa sahip 107 ebeveyn, gönüllü olarak araştırmaya katılmıştır. Araştırmada, yaşları 3 ile 18 arasında değişen 16’sı kız 91’i erkek olmak üzere 107 çocuk ve genç yetişkinin beslenme şekilleri incelenmiştir. Örneklem grubunu otizm spektrum bozukluğu olan çocuk ve adölesanlar oluşturmuştur, ancak veriler ebeveynlerin sözel bildirimlerine dayalı olarak toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın yürütülmesi için etik izin, valilik izni ve katılımcıların yazılı onamları alınmıştır.
Bulgular: Verilerin toplanmasında literatüre dayalı olarak oluşturulan yarı yapılandırılmış soru formu kullanılmıştır. Veriler görüşme tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Nicel araştırma yöntemi olarak desenlenen tanımlayıcı çalışmada analiz yöntemi olarak elde frekans hesaplaması kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya dahil olan otizm tanılı çocukların %85’i erkek, %15’i kız çocuktu. Ebeveynlerin %68,2’si anne ve %31,8’i baba olup, yaşları 26-55 arasındaydı. Otizm tanılı çocukların %60,7’sinin yumurta, %69,1’inin bal gibi besleyici yiyecekleri tüketmeyi tercih etmedikleri, birçoğunun kısıtlı yeme problemi (seçici besin tüketimi) yaşadığı ve konstipasyon sorunu olduğu belirlenmiştir.
Sonuç: Bu çalışma otizimli çocukların çeşitli beslenme problemleri yaşadığını göstermektedir. Bu problemler hakkında öğrenilen bilgiler bağırsak florasıyla ilişkili olabilecek sağlık sorunlarını anlamaya katkı sağlayabilir. Çocukların beslenme biçimleri ve bedensel rahatsızlık düzeylerinin bağırsak florası sağlığı ile ilişkisinin gelecek çalışmalarda araştırılmasının gerekli olduğu düşünülmektedir.
