BABALARIN BEBEK BAKIMINA KATILIMININ SAĞLANMASINDA HEMŞİRENİN ROLÜ

Abstract

Nurse’s Role About Fathers Baby Care Participation

Year 2020, Volume: 5 Issue: 2, 90 - 96, 30.12.2020
https://doi.org/10.47115/jshs.755020

Abstract

The concepts of becoming a father and paternity change day by day. While the fathers in the past,as a tough authoritative figure, didn't use to touch their babies and show their affection in front of others; today they have become individuals attending the birth, bathing their babies, playing and keeping skin-to-skin contact with them. They have started to involve in infant care more and grow their children together with their wives especially because women take part in working life more. Father involvement in prenatal process may have positive contributions to the infant's physical and mental development. In order for these mentioned above to be realized, it is important that nurses should provide active father involvement in perinatal period, inform and educate them and direct them to the perinatal preparation classes, start the processes of first touch and affiliation properly and ensure father involvement in postpartum period.
