Tekstil İşçilerinde Kas İskelet Sistemi Rahatsızlıkları, İşin Engellenmesi Ve Risk Faktörlerinin İncelenmesi

Year 2023, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 17 - 24, 29.12.2023

Abstract

EXAMINATION OF MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM DISORDERS, WORK DISABILITY AND RISK FACTORS IN TEXTILE WORKERS

Year 2023, Volume: 1 Issue: 1, 17 - 24, 29.12.2023

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was planned to examine the frequency of musculoskeletal disorders, work disability, and personal and working position-related risk factors of workers working in a textile factory.
Methods: The sample group of the study consists of textile workers working at Gamateks Textile Factory. Total 282 textile workers (mean age 34.05±9.68 years, 230 women, 51 men) participated in the study. The Turkish version of the Cornell Musculoskeletal Disorder Scale was used to evaluate the musculoskeletal disorder of the textile workers participating in the study. Workers were divided into three groups in terms of working years (0-2 years, 3-5 years and 6 years and above) and two groups in terms of working position (sitting and standing).
Results: The musculoskeletal disorders were most common in the neck (59.6%), waist (51.1%), back (47.9%) and right shoulder (38.7%). While the working years did not make a difference for these four regions (p>0.05); sitting working caused significant differences in neck (p:0.020), waist (p:0.031) and back (p:0.013).
Conclusion: Neck, waist, back and right shoulder are the areas most affected by musculoskeletal system disorders in textile workers, and sitting working has a negative contribution to this effect.
