Abstract

Ganoderma
lucidum (Lingzhi in Chinese and Reishi in Japanese) is a popular medicinal
mushroom and has been used for about 2.000 years in Chinese medicine. In the
last 30 years, this fungi has been investigated by modern pharmacologists.
Several studies showed that G. lucidum is effective in modulating immune
functions and inhibiting tumor growth. Other than these effects, G. lucidum has
also been demonstrated that it can be used in the treatment of hypertension,
hyperlipidemia, diabetes mellitus, nephritis, asthma, arthritis, inflammatory
bowel diseases and many other diseases. The certain mechanism of these effects
is still unclear. So, G. lucidum is not suggested as a therapeutic agent. It is
utilized mostly as an immune enhancer and a health supplement.
In these paper, we report a case with acute pancreatitis
presenting with different clinical findings.
