Abstract
Splenic abscess is an uncommon case. It is difficult to diagnose and its outcome is often fatal if left untreated. We report on a case of splenic abscess in a 27-year-old male patient presenting fever to emergency service. He had fever and left shoulder pain for a week. He was complaining of an abdominal pain for a month. Based on physical examination, splenic pathology was considered. Leucocytosis and increased CRP level were determined in laboratory analysis. Abdominal ultrasonography and computed tomography results confirmed splenic abscess. Percutaneous absces drainage was applied and the patient received antibiotic therapy. For the determination of etiology, several blood and abscess material tests were done in addition to echocardiography. However any significant cause of abscess could not be determined. After treatment the patient’s clinical results were recovered. He was discharged without any complication. Thus, his treatment was performed via conservative management without any necessity of splenectomy.

Abstract
Dalak absesi nadir görülür. Tanı koymak zordur ve tedavi edilmezse sıklıkla fatal seyreder. Bu yazıda 27 yaşında ateş şikayetiyle acil servise başvuran bir erkek hastayı rapor etmekteyiz. Hastanın bir haftadır ateşi ve sol omuz ağrısı vardı. Bir aydır karın ağrısından yakınmaktaydı. Fizik muayenesine dayanarak dalak patolojisi düşünüldü. Laboratuvar analizlerinde lökositoz ve CRP düzeyinde artış belirlendi. Batın ultrasonografi (USG) ve bilgisayarlı tomografi (BT) sonuçları dalak apsesini teyit etti. Hastaya perkutan abse drenajı uygulandı ve antibiyotik tedavisi verildi. Hastaya etyolojiyi belirlemek için ekokardiyografiye ilaveten kan ve abse materyalinde çeşitli testler yapıldı. Ancak belirgin bir abse nedeni tesbit edilemedi. Tedavi sonrası hastanın klinik bulgulan düzeldi. Herhangi bir komplikasyon gelişmeyen hasta taburcu edildi. Böylece splenektomi uygulanmasına gerek kalmadan konservatif yaklaşımla tedavisi gerçekleştirilmiş oldu.
