TÜRKİYE'DEN İKLİM KRİZİNE BETİMSEL METOTLAR İLE KISA BİR BAKIŞ

Öz

İklim krizi, insanlar üzerinde depresyon, anksiyete bozukluğu gibi pek çok psikolojik rahatsızlığa sebep olduğu araştırmacılar tarafından ortaya konan küresel bir tehdit olarak bilinmektedir (Clayton, Manning, Krygsman ve Speiser, 2017). Son dönemlerde yapılan çalışmalar iklim krizinin insanlar üzerindeki negatif sonuçlarına dair elde edilen bulguların daha da artacağını düşündürmektedir (Fritze, Blashki, Burke ve Wiseman, 2008). Bu doğrultuda, insanların iklim krizine bakış açılarını anlamak amacıyla üç çalışma gerçekleştirilmiştir. İlk çalışma, üniversite öğrencilerinin iklim krizinin bugünü ve geleceğine ilişkin düşüncelerini tespit etmek amacıyla, bilişsel haritalama yöntemi kullanarak Mersin Üniversitesi’nin farklı bölümlerinde öğrenim gören 78 kadın ve 72 erkek öğrencinin katılımıyla gerçekleştirilmiştir. Toplanan veriler tematik analiz yöntemi kullanılarak incelenmiştir ve günümüze ilişkin en sık belirtilen öğe ‘yeşilin varlığı’ olurken geleceğe ilişkin ise ‘yeşilin yok olması / azalması’ öğesi en sık belirtilen öğe olmuştur. İkinci çalışma kadınların iklim krizine bakış açısını, çalışan kadın örneklemiyle, odak grup yöntemi kullanılarak incelemektedir. Tematik analizle incelenen çalışma sonucunda, ‘iklim kriziyle ilgili genel bilgiler’, ‘iklim krizinin etkileri’, ‘iklim krizi konusunda kimlerin sorumlu olduğu’, ‘iklim krizi konusuyla ilgili yapılanlar ve yapılabilecekler’ başlıkları adı altında bulgular elde edilmiştir. Üçüncü çalışmada ise iklim krizinin sosyal medyadaki etkisi bağlamında Ekşi Sözlük’te girilmiş olan ‘iklim krizi’ ve ‘iklim değişikliği’ başlıkları tematik analiz ile incelenmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda toplamda 14 tema ortaya çıkarken; en belirgin üç temsil ise ‘atmosfere salınan gazlar’, ‘doğa felaketleri’ ve ‘umursanmayan’ olarak tespit edilmiştir. Yapılan üç çalışmada da iklim krizinin insanlar üzerindeki etkisi sosyal ve bilişsel temsiller bağlamında incelenmiştir. Ulaşılan sonuçlara bakıldığında doğanın yok oluşu, kirlilik, gelecek nesillere dair endişeler göze çarpmakla birlikte insanlığın topyekün mücadelesine dair beklentilere vurgu yapıldığı tespit edilmiştir.

A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE CLIMATE CRISIS FROM TURKEY WITH DESCRIPTIVE METHODS

The climate crisis is known to be a global threat posed by researchers that causes many psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety disorder in people (Clayton et al., 2017). Recent studies suggest that the findings on the negative consequences of the climate crisis on people will increase even more (Fritze et al., 2008). In this respect, three studies have been conducted to understand people’s perspectives on the climate crisis. The first study was carried out with the participation of 78 female and 72 male students who studied in different parts of Mersin University using cognitive mapping to determine the current and future of the climate crisis of university students. The collected data was analyzed using the thematic analysis method and the most frequently mentioned item for the present is ‘presence of green’, while ‘destruction/reduction of green’ for the future has become the most frequently specified item. The second study examines the perspective of women on the climate crisis using the focus group method, with the example of working women. As a result of the study examined by thematic analysis, findings were obtained under the title ‘general information about the climate crisis’, ‘impacts of the climate crisis’, ‘who is responsible for the climate crisis’, ‘what is being done and what can be done’. The third study examined the impact of climate crisis on social media, the topics of ‘climate crisis’ and ‘climate change’, which were entered on Ekşi Sözlük, through thematic analysis. The study revealed 14 themes in total, while three most prominent representations were identified as ‘gas released into the atmosphere’, ‘natural disasters’ and ‘indifferent’. In all three studies, the impact of the climate crisis on humans has been studied in the context of social and cognitive representations. When we look at the results reached, it is determined that while the concerns about the destruction of nature, pollution and future generations stand out, the expectations about the total struggle of humanity are emphasized.
