Dr Nuket Sivri is a academic researcher at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa. She has finished her PhD at Faculty of Marine Sciences, KTU in Trabzon. Nuket’s current academic research projects include enteric bacteria and antimicrobic resistance, coastal area dynamics. Applied new projects include water sanitation, and the development of novel technologies for promoting microalgal growth. Her research field is mainly microbial ecology & aquatic microbial community. She is also expert in antibiotic resistance (AR) and molecular microbial methods in natural waters, especially in the sea, and microbial methods for identification of enteric bacteria.
She is currently a Professor of Department of Environmental Engineering, Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa and also a senior lecturer of same department. She is working as a project manager of antibiotic resistance & GIS and other research based of microbial ecology. In addition research focuses mainly on understanding the role of microorganisms in the coastal area using genomic approaches. She has research projects supported by the Research Fund of The University of Istanbul and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBITAK).
