ABSTRACT
Consciousness is the state of ability of a person to perceive himself/herself and environment and to give an appropriate response to stimuli. While there are a number of reasons for altered states of consciousness in children, the most common causes may include electrolyte disturbances, encephalopathy, infections, drug overdose, poisonings, uremia trauma, seizure and hypo-hyperglycemia. Hypoglicemia is a very common metabolic problem in children (1). The objective of this case report is to distinguish hypoglicemia which is one of the most common reasons of impaired consciousness from the other reasons through the examination and investigation that we have performed.
