HEMŞİRELİK ERKEK ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN KADIN SAĞLIĞI KLİNİK ÖĞRENME ALANLARINDA YAŞADIKLARI DENEYİMLER: NİTEL BİR ÇALIŞMA
Abstract
Amaç: Bu çalışma, erkek hemşirelik öğrencilerinin kadın sağlığı klinik öğrenme alanlarında yaşadıkları deneyimleri belirlemek amacıyla nitel araştırma yöntemi kullanılarak yapılmıştır.
Yöntem: Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu bir devlet üniversitesinin hemşirelik lisans programında öğrenimine devam etmekte olan, üçüncü sınıf erkek hemşirelik öğrencileri oluşturmuştur. (n=14). Çalışmadan elde edilen nitel verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yöntemi kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Çalışma sonucunda yapılan içerik analizinde “kadın sağlığı klinik öğrenim süreci," “toplumsal cinsiyet algısı” ve “kadın doğum alanında uzmanlaşma planları” olmak üzere üç ana tema belirlenmiştir. Araştırmada öğrencilerin kadın doğum klinik öğrenme ortamlarında utanma ve çekinme duygularını yoğunlukla hissettikleri belirlenmiştir. Bunun yanında bazı öğrenciler, kadın hastalar tarafından istenmeme ve meslektaşları tarafından bakıma dahil edilmeme gibi davranışlara maruz kaldıklarını belirtmiştir. Öğrencilerin bazılarının kadın doğum alanında cinsiyetçi bakış açısına bazılarının ise profesyonel bakış açısına sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir. Erkek öğrencilerin kadın doğum dersi klinik uygulamasına uyumlarının artırılmasına yönelik öğrenciler erkek eğitici modellerinin bulunması, klinik eğitim öncesi hastaya yaklaşım gibi konularda öğrencilere uyum eğitimlerinin verilmesi gibi önerilerde bulunmuştur. Öğrencilerin tamamına yakını mezuniyet sonrası kadın sağlığı alanında uzmanlaşmak istemediklerini daha çok cerrahi ve dahiliye alanlarında uzmanlaşmak istediklerini ifade etmiştir.
Sonuç: Sonuç olarak erkek hemşirelik öğrencilerinin toplumsal ve kültürel değerlerden olumsuz etkilendikleri, baş etme yöntemlerinde desteğe ihtiyaçları olduğu ve uzmanlaşma konusunda kadın sağlığı alanını tercih etmeme eğiliminde oldukları görülmektedir. Bu kapsamda öğrencilerin kadın doğum alanında cinsiyetçi bakış açısından uzaklaştıracak, klinik uygulamada uyumlarını artıracak ve girişimlerini kolaylaştıracak planlamaların yapılması önerilmektedir.
