Özet
Günümüzde primer inguinal herni onarımında mesh kullanımı yaygındır. Herni tedavisinde mesh kullanımı yüzeyel yara enfeksiyonu oranını değiştirmez. Geç başlangıçlı derin mesh enfeksiyonu az sayıda rapor edilmiş beklenmedik bir komplikasyondur ve gerçek görülme sıklığı bilinmemektedir. Mesh kullanımının yaygınlaşması ile bu komplikasyon giderek artmaktadır. Bu yazıda inguinal herni onarımı sonrası çok ender görülen geç başlangıçlı derin mesh enfeksiyonu olgusu sunuldu.

Abstract
Mesh use for the primary repair of inguinal hernias is now commonplace. Late-onset deep-seated mesh infection is an unexpected complication. Mesh use for hernia repair does not appear to alter the incidence of superficial wound infection. Late-onset deep graft infection has been rarely reported, and the true incidence is yet to be established. With the more widespread use of mesh materials, this complication may become increasingly evident. A case of late-onset deep-seated mesh infection after inguinal hernia repair was presented.

Primer inguinal herni onarımında mesh kullanımı günümüzde yaygındır. Geç başlangıçlı derin mesh enfeksiyon beklenmedik bir komplikasyondur. Mesh’in herni tedavisinde kullanılması yüzeyel yara enfeksiyonu oranını değiştirmemiştir. Geç başlangıçlı derin enfeksiyonlar nadiren rapor edilmiştir ve gerçek görülme sıklığı henüz ortaya koyulmayı beklemektedir. Mesh kullanımının yaygınlaşması ile bu komplikasyon giderek artmaktadır.
